Memorial services for Stevie Ray Vaughan Carter, 26, of Gore, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025, at Warner Event Center under the direction of Hibbs Funeral Home.
Mr. Carter was born on March 26, 1998, in Fort Smith, Ark. to Angie (Norris) and Jeff Carter. He passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025.
He was a 2017 graduate of Warner High School and received a Bachelor’s Degree in AG Business from OSU. He worked at Sparks Research Feed Lot.
He enjoyed fishing, wood turning, basketball, cooking, and helping out on the farm working cattle, riding horses, and making hay with his dad.
On May 16, 2024, he received his Kidney Transplant from Megan Chitty, and the family is forever grateful.
Survivors are his mother and step-father, Angie and Adley Gates; father, Jeff Carter; two sisters, Violet S. Carter-Crites and husband Caleb of Westville, and Chandra J. Carter of Gore; three brothers, Vann T. Carter of Stillwater and Cash B. Carter and Roman J. Carter, both of Webbers Falls; paternal grandparents, Don and Janis Carter; maternal grandmother, Vickie Pehl; and numerous other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Dick and Violet Sheffield, Cleo and Opal Carter, and G.W. and Bobby Taylor; grandfather, Gordon B. “Mike” Norris; and an uncle, Frank.
