Our Land – Great Spiritual Drought
commentary, Devotional

Our Land – Great Spiritual Drought

“Yet I am the LORD your God, And you shall know no God but Me; For there is no Savior besides Me. I knew you in the wilderness. In the land of great drought. When they had pasture, they were filled; They were filled and their heart was exalted; Therefore, they forgot Me” (Hosea 13:4-6).

Yes, there is a great spiritual drought in America today! Many believe Jesus is coming soon! Are you ready?

Today there is a serious drought in our Nation. It is a “spiritual drought.” What is a spiritual drought? It is when professed Christians turn their backs on the Word of the Living God, turning to idols, become arrogant and ungrateful to God. When you lay your Bible aside ignoring His Word. This causes spiritual drought across the land. Christian, how is your spiritual life? God holds every born-again accountable to Him for the way we live our lives before the world. We can change the world if we choose to allow God to work in and through us.

Many churches preach “nothing” and making members feel good, about themselves. They preach about everything but SIN! If you are being entertained, you need to start thinking about the spiritual drought in your life. God’s Word leaves us with conviction in the heart, seeing ourselves in comparison to Christ, it leads to repentance, falling down and crying out to Him, that is when we feel good!

Our nation has been blessed by the Living God! We better raise up our head and observe thru God’s eyes and cry out for His “living water “to end the drought. Satan is deceiving Christians and Churches today.

God warned Israel, repent or judgment comes. Why? Because they had ignored His Word, became arrogant, ungrateful, bowing to idols, even kissing the calves. Are we any better?

Sin and Judgment

Like Israel, God’s Word has been replaced with other things. No time for God, His Word, or worship! How much time do you spend in His Word, prayer, worship, witnessing to lost? This is the first step toward His chastening. If Christians were in His Word, our Nation would not be in a spiritual drought!!

They had an arrogant attitude. We also think because God has blessed us that we can do whatever we choose and get away with it. The Northern Kingdom abandoned God for Baal worship. They sacrificed to golden calves, bowed down and kissed the calves. What are we as a Nation bowing to? What are we kissing? Christian, do you have an arrogant attitude? Have you abandoned God in your Christian life?

They were ungrateful. Israel was glad for what God had done for them, but they would not show Him any appreciation. When they were in trouble they ran to God for help, but in times of prosperity they became proud and turned to idols. They ignored God’s warnings.

God built our Nation! We must give Him the glory due Him, Honor Him or we will see more judgment. We have turned from the Word of God. The world tells us when to pray, worship, and that man is free to do and be as he pleases. The “world” has too much to say about what we should do and too many Christians are listening. We must repent and turn back to God today.

God chastens His people and His Nations!

We fly our flag, and recognize our holidays, then we live as we please. When America was attacked, we ran to the Churches, but when the dust settled, we forgot and went on as before. (Hosea 13) God will chasten His people because He loves us and we are to honor Him, not dishonor Him. Are you honoring God today?

Let’s fall on our knees in true worship and ask God to make America grateful, not arrogant and let’s bring the Bible alive in our churches and homes. Pastors, leaders, you can make the difference!

Our Nation is in a spiritual drought, what will we be willing to do to see our Nation return to God? God used the Claim America in prayer and bring America back to God.

One Christian, One prayer at a time!
