Alert! ‘Global Warming’
By Shirley R. Watts

Vian Church of Christ

Pastor Jerry Waters SUNDAY Morning Service–10:30am No Evening Service Sequoyah & Thornton St. Vian

‘These things say the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God: “I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. (Revelation 3:14-22).

Lukewarm Christians

This is a “global warning” to the “global warming” of the Church today. We hear so much about “global warming.” If we spent as much time and money on the “global warning” as we do on global “warming” The world would be a different place. We need to be “warning” of the coming judgments!

What has caused the “lukewarmness” in the Church today? Jesus spoke to the Laodicean

Church concerning “lukewarmness.” Statistics show that over sixty percent of Church members are deceived” They have become “church members” and may not have experienced Christ as Savior. “Lukewarm” Christians are costing millions of lives today because they are “warming” up to the world instead of “warning” the world of future judgments. What kind of testimony do you present to the world? There is a deep “lukewarm” problem in the Church today.

Deceiving Yourself

The Laodiceans said, “I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’ –and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.” They deceived themselves! They have convinced themselves that all is well spiritually. They believe they are eternally saved! They want to see themselves as “Christian” so they go through the motion, of professing they know

Pastor Robert Buttrey

“All are Welcome”

SUNDAY Sunday School–10am Morning Worship–11am Evening Worship–6pm WEDNESDAY Evening Service–7pm 5 miles north of Vian on Hwy 82, 773-3068

Christ, are baptized and join the local church. Remember I said, “local church.” Some become active in leadership roles such as pastor, music director, deacon, teacher, church treasurer etc. But they have never truly repented of sin and placed their faith in Christ as Savior and Lord of their life.

Lukewarmers wear the outer garment of “Christianity” but Christ is not in the heart. Who are you? What do you wear inside? Nothing, is hid from Christ. He said, “I know your works.”

Blind and Naked First Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Mack Jackson

“We believe Worship is not a spectator activity. It includes singing, praying listening, giving, preaching and learning” SUNDAY Sunday School–10am Morning Worship–11am WEDNESDAY Evening Bible Study–6pm Across from Lizzie Henry Park on Martin Luther King St. Vian

“We too have a dream”

As we look at the “global warming” of the Church, will you please consider what Jesus has to say “you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.” They did not know that they were “lukewarm” and they would not do a self- examination to find out. They were satisfied with who they were. They did not recognize that they were “wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked.”

SUNDAY Morning Service–10:30am WEDNESDAY Evening Youth–7pm Come Start Life With Us Child Care Provided

Behind Synergy Bldg. on Hwy 64, Sallisaw, OK, 918-776-9548

They could not see themselves as Jesus saw them. There are many “Laodiceans” today! They are completely naked and cannot not see themselves! They cannot discern what is in their own heart. They have no heavenly vision!

Jesus says to all members today, “I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.” Are you truly born again?

Born Again Lifestyle Lighthouse Tabernacle

Pastor W.O. Armstrong

“Everyone Welcome”

SUNDAY Sunday School–10am Morning Service–11am Evening Service–6pm WEDNESDAY Evening Service–7pm Corner of 9th and Campbell, and Geneva St, Gore, OK

Are you excited and enthusiastic about Jesus Christ? If not, you are “lukewarm.” Do you have compassion for the lost souls? If not, you are “lukewarm.” Do you have a love for His Word? If not, you are “lukewarm.” The self-exam begins with humility, a confession of sin and a seeking to know exactly where you stand with God. Jesus

First Missionary Baptist Church

Pastor Mack Jackson

“We believe Worship is not a spectator activity. It includes singing, praying, listening, giving, preaching and learning.”

SUNDAY Sunday School–10am Morning Worship–11:15am WEDNESDAY Youth Evening Bible Study-

is coming again! And there will be a Judgment of the World for all who reject Him. This is the “Global Warning” to all today! Jesus said, “So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.” He will say “depart from Me, I never knew you”

5:30pm Adult Evening Bible Study- 6:30pm Across from Lizzie Henry Park on Martin Luther King St. Vian

“We too have a dream” Be ready! “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me… be zealous and repent”. (Revelation 3:14-22).

Are you “warming” up to the World or “warning” the World of Judgment?
