James F. Hefley

Webbers Falls – James F. Hefley was born on Aug. 5, 1929, in Webbers Falls, OK, to James A. Hefley and Frances (Poteete) Hefley. He passed away Mon., April 8, 2019, in Tampa, Fla.
He was the second child of 13 children born to his parents. He attended school at Webbers Falls and joined the U.S. Navy shortly afterwards. He spent 10 years in the Navy, then reenlisted in the Air Force and spent many years, retiring from MacDill Air Force Base in
Tampa, Fla., after obtaining the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. He was also an electrical lineman on the Air Force base and retired from that position.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan of Virginia; his son, Mark of North Carolina; and three granddaughters. Other survivors are his brothers, Richard Hefley of Tyler, Texas and Fred Hefley of Webbers Falls; and his sisters, Mary Fisher of Big Cabin, OK, Lahoma Spears of Gore, Okla., Glenda Eskew of North Carolina, and Nancy Hefley of Tulsa.
James was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Betty Tygart; and brothers, Joe Paul, Benny and Frank, and Daniel Hefley and Luther Hefley.
James will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C., at a later date.
A memorial service is being planned on June 8, 2019 at Webbers Falls for family and friends.
