Around 75 people gathered Friday afternoon in the downtown Anna Bell Farmer Park and gazebo for a peaceful protest picnic. Those attending (ABOVE AND BELOW) made and held up signs to motorists that read ‘Black Lives Matter,’ ‘Silence is Violence,’ ‘Enough is Enough,’ and ‘I can’t breathe.’ Danielle Samuels (BOTTOM LEFT) holds up a sign with information on how to help. The event was organized by Rowan Martha DrowningBear Bissell and featured Kenyatta Wright as guest speaker. “Thank you for taking the time out of your day to participate in this movement that is sweeping the world!” Bissell said. “And thank you to everyone for asking, helping, and providing supplies, food and advice!”AMIE REMER
