Sequoyah County Commissioners proclaimed the week of May 2-8 as Oklahoma Home and Community Education Week. The proclamation recognizes the state-wide organization’s contribution to “flattening the curve” of the COVID-19 crisis in Oklahoma by donating fabric, and sharing sewing skills with over 73,427 hours of their time to create over 74,855 personal protection masks for the safety of fellow citizens. Pictured in the center are April Olsen, FCS & 4-H Educator and County Director and Gayla Guthrie from the Sequoyah County FCE along with Sequoyah County Commissioners Ray Watts, Jim Rogers and Beau Burlison and other county elected officials and community supporters.
