Sequoyah County Farm Bureau announces recipients of this year’s $1,000 scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to students of Farm families, according to Gary Acker, Oklahoma Farm Bureau County Board president, left. Receiving their scholarships and honorary plaques last Friday were Gracy Carson, Sallisaw High School graduate who plans to attend NSU in the fall and study Mathematics Education and Accounting. Her future plans are to become a principal or a superintendent. Carson is the daughter of Barry and Jennifer Carson of Sallisaw. Cason Wright of Vian, right, said he will be attending OSU in the fall and has plans to study animal science and become an Embryologist. He is the son of Tommy and Ronda Wright of Vian. Wright’s father also received a Farm Bureau Scholarship when he was a senior, Acker said. LYNN MCCULLEY
