Stepping Into Deeper and Spiritual Waters

Stepping Into Deeper and Spiritual Waters

Old song, great message!

Step into the water, Wade out a little bit deeper.

————- So much H is happen-

t^is ungodly world (Jude 15) and for us be upset because of the evil schemes is to doubt the good and justice of God (Ps. 37:7, 12, 32). The evil is affecting our personal lives, family, church, schools, and our Nation. Satan is leading, but still with a short leash.

Christians must “wade out into the deeper spiritual waters.” We spend too much time watching, worrying and wanting the much needed change, and forget that we hold the key to the change in the power of the Holy Spirit and in surrender to our Living God. The Christian has a different agenda than the world and unless we are willing to “wade out into the deeper spiritual waters,” we will not see much change and we then, will miss the opportunity to honor and glorify God.

We must “wade” out and grow in our faith, love and the joy of Jesus. “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way” (Ps. 37:2324). We must be faithful and “wade out into the deeper waters” if we are to please God in this “ungodly world.”

It’s “Time” to take a look at ourselves spiritually. Ask “how deep is my Christian walk? How far have I waded out into the deeper spiritual waters? Am I willing to wade out further?

Ankle-Deep

This is the moment you repented of sin and placed your faith in Jesus Christ, followed Him in baptism, declaring you are forgiven and have eternal life. How far have you waded out since this time? Usually this can be the best time of wading into the deeper waters, but for so many it has not happened, Not much growth, still in ankledeep waters.

Knee-Deep

This is when you slack off and become complacent in the waters. You attend church, read your Bible occasionally and you can call yourself a Christian if asked. You have pretty much accepted the knee-deep waters and don’t see need to wade any deeper. Waist-Deep

Now for you who are in the waist-deep waters, you experience a prayer answered and memorize some scriptures attend worship and mention Jesus on occasion. You feel pretty good about your being in the waistdeep waters.

Up-To-Our Necks

I believe this is when we show that we are serious about Jesus. This should be the goal of every Christian! We must mature to this point in our worship, Word, work, and witnessing to the lost. This will not be easy, and we can see that it can cost us today to be the dedicated Christian that we should be. “Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand” (Ps. 37:23-24). Yes, we may stumble, but the Lord is near and reaches out to us. Amen!

The only way this can happen is to have the desire and the dedication to please God. You must be willing to “wade into the deeper spiritual waters.” God blesses faith! He delights in us and wants all of us to have faith, love Him, have joy and be at peace in this world today. This all leads to increased and improved prayer life, a greater desire to see the lost saved, and above all it will allow us to “wor-

See WATTS, page 5 ship Him in spirit and in truth” (Jn. 4).

It’s Time

It’s time we the people, Stand up for what is right. It’s time we squared our shoulders back, And raised our swords to fight.

For the Bible is our weapon, And the spirit is my shield. The church needs more of its members To be workers in the field.

Don’t be fearful of the deeper waters, be surrendered and show your faith. We fight as we worship, witness, work, take in His Word and watch and wait for His return.

So, let us all “wade out a little bit deeper and this will honor our Lord. Amen!

Wake up every morning and wade out further! Begin each day with a new song in our hearts.

May God bless you!
