Simply acting on gods word builds our lives on a solid foundation. Cont inually doing this and t r a i n ing ourselves to go with the word of God over the circums tances builds trust in ___________ the word of God. So, when situations come, and they will come, if we have been building on the word and not on sight or circumstance, we will be solid like a rock.
But when the bank account is wiped out and the billfold is empty and the bills are facing you, if you have only mentally agreed with God and His word, you will drop back into the Thomas kind of Faith, going by what you see and feel, which is unbelief, an unwillingness to allow Gods word to govern your life.
The same thing is true when it comes to healing. We can get by easily with some symptoms, but it isn’t so easy when you’re in pain. But isn’t Gods word just as true regardless? It’s just as true when you have distress in your body as when you are well. This is when were going to have to be strong and speak Gods word into the circumstance or in the face of the pain. We are going to have to decide if we are only mentally agreeing with God or if we are willing to believe Him no matter what. This is the labor that Hebrews talked about in chapter 4.
God gives us scripture to refer to when these times come. 2 Corinthians 5:7 tells us “We walk by faith, not by sight,” sight is a physical sense. Then in Philippians 4:19 God, through Paul tells us “He shall supply all our need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” And David tells us in Psalm 23 “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” We can read it like this, I do not want, I believe God!
1 Peter 2:24 declares “by His stripes ye are healed.” Walking by faith I know I am healed in Jesus name.
