Christians – Come Out of the Closet!

“Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord” (II Cor. 6:17).

_ ‘… let us

I cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh iL and spirit, perfecting

Shirley R. holiness in

Watts the fear of God” (II Cor.

7.a).

“I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh” (Gal. 5:16).

Closet of Sin

God calls all Christians who are living in a closet of sin “come out” and live a dedicated life to Him. Are you hiding in the “closet of sin?” If so, you need to repent and come out and put on the armor of God, and use your spiritual gifts to equip the Church. It is time to take the Great Commission seriously. People are lost and dying. Unless they are saved, they will go to hell.

Living in your closet is living for the world.

You are hiding what God has done for you.

You are saved to serve and worship God.

Hiding in the closet is like living in a pig pen. You must associate with what pleases God.

The Christian has a divine nature, the pig has a worldly nature (Luke 15).

Be Separate

If you are walking with the world, your spiritual fellowship is broken. “Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.” (Eph. 6:17). Living in your closet does not glorify God.

Separation is dedication unto God. Defilement is touching the unclean things. We do not compromise with the world. If you are living in your sinful closet, the devil has deceived you.

When you hide in the closet, you steal from God, the Church and from yourself. You have a spiritual gift and it is “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ” (Eph. 4:12-13).

Now who would hide your spiritual gift in the closet?

The Christian is the “temple of the living God” (II Cor. 6:16). We all must walk in this life glorifying God every step of the way. The Christian does not have time to hide in the closet!!

Paul was concerned for the Corinthian Christians. They were compromising with the world, walking with the false teachers. They were ignoring Biblical doctrines. It would lead them into the closet!

Paul was afraid that they “may well put up with it” (II Cor. 11:3-4).

If you are hiding in the closet today, you must recall “And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world…”

(Eph. 2:1-2). You must “come out,” you are not glorifying God!

You must “…walk worthy of the calling with which you were called” (Eph 4:1). You must live by faith, and share your spiritual gift with the Church. You help the growth of the Church! That is a wow!

You are an important part of God’s plan.

Amen!

Be Renewed

The Church to be a powerful witness today, if not, things will not get better, only worse!

I challenge you to “come out” and “that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness” (Eph. 4:22-29).

The Christian who hides in the closet grieves the Holy Spirit “by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption” (Eph. 4:30).

Christians let us unite in His love and His power regardless of denominational issues. If you believe in and have trusted Christ as Savior, you are a member of His Church.

If you are hiding in the closet, Jesus calls all to “come out” and live for Him in this old world that will soon fade away and we will be with Him. Amen.

Sequoyah County needs the Church to “come out” of the “worldly” closet and boldly live by faith. The future generations need our testimony. Amen!

Will you join me in prayer for lost souls and for Christians who live in the closet to “come out?”
