Celebrating America in Repentance and Prayer
By Shirley R. turmoil and Watts that only,

July 4th – 2023

As we celebrate our ———— Nation July

\ 4th in reflj pentance and prayer, seeing Our Nation in

prayer to our One and Holy God can change it. God has blessed the USA, but seems we have forgotten Him! Disobedience brings judgment!

Let us thank God and pray for all Christians, and all those in authority in our Nation. There are many of Satan’s followers in places of authority today and we must be praying if we want to keep our freedom to worship and serve God here.

“For what great nation is there that has God so near to it, as the Lord our God is to us, for whatever reason we may call upon Him? And what great nation is there that has such statutes and righteous judgments as are in all this law which I set before you this day? Only take heed to yourself, and diligently keep yourself, lest you forget the things your eyes have seen, and lest they depart from your heart all the days of your life” (Deut 4:7).

Moses leaves this message with the Nation Israel and I believe it speaks to the United States of America today. It is a call to remember, repent and return to Him!

Prayer

How can a Nation obey God? Remember! Repent! Be thankful and pray! “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (ITim 2:1-2).

It begins with the knowledge of God’s Law, and obeying it. Prayer is the key to the life of a Nation who wants to glorify God with its actions, in lifestyle. It is the responsibility of every true Believer to pray for “all who are in authority.” We must be obedient to His Word. We must not compromise His Laws.

Prayer is not a priority in the True Church today. Too much of the world has seated itself in the Church. We know this because of all the turmoil in our world and in our local churches. Prayer changes things! Prayer brings the power of God into our personal life and into the life of a Nation.

Our Nation

Unless our Nation follows God’s Law beginning with The Ten Commandments it will fall! Jesus said: “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment” (Mark 12:30).

Our Nation is to be a witness to all Nations, demonstrating that God is real and that living for Him brings blessings. A Nation that turns its back on God will suffer the consequences. No Nation is so big, that it cannot fall!

Our Nation needs to seek God’s wisdom in all things. His wisdom is found in His Word, and in His Son Jesus Christ, “who gave Himself a ransom for all,” (1 Tim 2:6). I pray there is a Bible in every home and it is read and taught. Amen!

Our Nation is made up of men and women, lost and saved! Christians are accountable to Him in how we live our daily lives. This includes prayer for “all in authorlty.

Our Nation can be seen as an individual Christian or as an unbeliever. How do you see our Nation today? Are you praying for America? We are a di-

See WATTS, page 5 vided Nation, and when divided it will not stand. So much personal sin and this leads to National acceptance of sin. Our Nation is without excuse! God cured Israel, He can heal the USA! “It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Heb 10:31).

Our Nation is missing blessings! Victory only comes when we honor God! Unless you are praying, one can’t complain, and keep in mind that there are consequences of the “neglect of prayer.” It is a sin not to pray! I Sam. 12:23.

Christians, must repent and pray our Nation back to God, “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence” (1Tim 2:1-2).
