The Boys and Girls Club of Sequoyah County is interested in opening a club in Vian, and is currently conducting a survey to see how many students would be interested in attending.
According to a post on the Vian Public Schools Facebook page, the Vian Boys and Girls Club would be open to students in grades PK-12 (ages 4-18).
The standard membership fee in a Boys and Girls Club is $50 per semester, per child. Payment may also be scheduled by the year, semester or day, and possible payment plans may be arranged for large families.
Organizers are currently in the planning stages, but the tentative plan is for the Vian club to use the cafeteria (round building) and the elementary playground daily.
Workers will be fully trained, and receive curriculum and resources to facilitate the program.
According to the post, clubs must operate four hours a day. Most clubs are open for one hour before school and three hours after school.
For parents interested in letting their children attend Vian Boys and Girls Club, there is a form available on the Vian Public Schools Facebook page that you can complete.
Completing the form just indicates that your child may attend Vian Boys and Girls Club, it does not enroll them or commit them to attend.
