KOA Campground under new ownership

Kampgrounds of America is pleased to welcome Sam Lewis, new owner of the Sallisaw/ Fort Smith West KOA Holiday, to the KOA Family of Campgrounds.

KOA Holiday campgrounds are wonderful base camps for exploring the area or just a fun place to stay with lots of activities. KOA Holiday parks have amenities and services to make stays memorable, whether it’s a longer stay or just overnight. Each KOA Holiday features full-service RV Sites with a KOA Patio and KOA Deluxe Cabins with full bathrooms.

“This is my first campground and it was already a KOA when I purchased it. I love the outdoors and I wanted to operate a business that involved outdoor recreation,” Lewis says. “The previous owners did a great job of making this campground a desirable place to stay. We want to start where they left off and continue improving and adding amenities and updated camping sites.”

This green oasis is only ¾ mile off I-40, with long, level, shaded Pull-Thru RV Sites, Deluxe Cabins, Camping Cabins, Tent Sites and even a tiny house. Guests can enjoy the pool, jump pad, WaterWars, walking trails, fishing pond, playground, Gaga Ball pit, box hockey, washer toss, volleyball and a KampK9 for their fourlegged friends. The rec room has a kitchen, board games, books, movies and puzzles.

Explore the beautiful Ouachita, or Boston mountains, Robert S. Kerr Reservoir, or Lake Tenkiller, where hiking, biking, boating, scuba diving and fishing are plentiful.

The Sallisaw/Fort Smith West KOA Holiday is one of more than 500 open-to-the-public KOA campgrounds in the U.S. and Canada. Other brands in the KOA Family of Campgrounds include KOA Journeys, convenient locations after a long day on the road that feature long Pull-thru RV sites and easy after-hours check in; and KOA Resorts, which include an abundance of activities led by dedicated recreation staff, on-site food service, group meeting space and more.

Located at 1900 KOA Power Drive in Sallisaw, the Sallisaw/Fort Smith West KOA Holiday received the KOA Founder’s and President’s award for achieving world-class scores and meeting exceptional quality standard. It is open all year.

For more information, visit https://koa. com/campgrounds/ sallisaw/ or call 918775-2792. Reservations are available by going online, using the KOA App, or by calling 800562-2797.
