The town of Gore’s 21st annual Cruise Night, Car Show and Burnout competition will be held from 2 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in downtown Gore.
Dubbed “Oklahoma’s biggest, baddest 2-lane cruise event,” this year’s event is offering thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.
The Sequoyah Fuels Car Show will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. on Main Street, with $1,000 going to Best in Show, courtesy of Cherokee Nation. Registration is free and you can preregister now by visiting www.gorechamber.net or by calling 405-2095920.
Categories for the car show will include: 1920s to 1950s, 1980s to 1990s, 2000s, People’s Choice, Mayor’s Choice, Best Motorcycle, Chamber Choice, Top Custom, Most Unique, Beat Truck and more.
“This year, we’ve expanded the car show categories to include motorcycles and trucks,” Troy Kinion, organizer, said. “We’ve also added Mayor’s Choice, Chamber of Commerce Choice, Top Custom, Most Unique, and Best Resto-Mod.”
The Riverside Auto Burnout will start at 6 p.m. at 313 Steve Owens Drive. First place will receive $1,000, second place, $500 and $300 for third, along with a blowout bonus.
“The burnout competition will have an added blowout bonus, a $500 tire certificate for Riverside Auto for the best tire blowout,” Kinion said.
There will also be free hotdogs, and Souter Limestone & Minerals is sponsoring a Kidzone for younger attendees.
