Sallisaw – Graveside services for Larry Stites, 56, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at the Sallisaw City Cemetery pavilion under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services.
Mr. Stites was born on May 26, 1967, to Edmund and Gwen Stites. He died on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, in Vian.
He was a talented artist, musician, and in his teens, a gifted athlete in track and football.
Survivors include two daughters, Courtney Stites of Verdigris and Christina and James Pletcher of Claremore; one son, Noah Rumsey of Van Buren, Ark.; his mother, of Sallisaw; one sister, Malora Stites of Sallisaw; two brothers, Eddie and Greg Stites and Dana, all of Sallisaw; five grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one brother, Melvin Stites.
Pallbearers were Bill Stites, Bart Stites, Todd Riggs, B.J. Hicks, Carl Ortiz and Ronnie Marrion.
