Larry Gene Vickers, Jr.
Obituaries
December 13, 2023
Larry Gene Vickers, Jr.

Nov. 9, 1972 – Dec. 4, 2023

Vian – Larry Gene Vickers, Jr. entered his eternal rest with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Monday morning, Dec. 4, 2023. Larry was born to Larry Gene Vickers, Sr and Kay (Head) Vickers, on Nov. 9, 1972, in Ft. Smith, Ark. Larry was raised in Arkoma, Okla., graduating from Arkoma High School in 1991. He would continue his education at Northeastern State graduating in 1996.

Larry then attended Tulsa College of Law graduating in 2000. He served in private practice for over 20 years. He served as the town of Vian attorney for 18 years. He was the town attorney for Webbers Falls and the surrounding communities as well. Larry became a Judge in Fort Gibson where he served for four years. He was most recently an Assistant District Attorney for Muskogee County. Larry also served as the Muskogee County Bar Vice President. He was a longtime member of Landmark Missionary Baptist Church.

Larry was dearly loved by many who had the privilege of knowing him. He loved hunting, fishing, time on his boat on Lake Tenkiller, and traveling the world with his wife, Jodi.

He was incredibly proud of his children and took joy in sharing how proud he was of each of his children – of his son Zac’s service for this country, traveling all over the state watching Ashton play football, and watching Hanna dance in many recitals over the years. He absolutely loved and adored his two grandchildren, Avie Lake Vickers and Beau Alan Vickers.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jodi (Edwards) Vickers; his children, Zachary Wiseman Lucas Vickers, Ashton Connor Vickers and daughter-in-law Aleigh Elizabeth (LeDuc) Vickers and Hanna Noel Vickers. The apple of his eye were his grandchildren, Avie Lake Vickers and Beau Alan Vickers; his mother, Kay (Head) Vickers; his sister, Jennifer Perceful and brother-in-law Joe Perceful; and nephew, Seth Perceful.

He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Gene Vickers, Sr.

Honorary pallbearers were Kevin Dodson, Logan Coffee, Keith Boshers, Dan Medlock, Sean Waters, Jeff LeDuc and Joe Paul Simon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

The Celebration of Life for Larry Gene Vickers, Jr., was at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023, at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
