Funeral services for Mary Ann Cowett, 72, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Home in Sallisaw. Burial followed in Brushy Cemetery under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc. Mrs. Cowett was born on June 20, 1951, in Marble City, to Charles “Pete” and Mary Randle (Thomas). She died on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024, in Tulsa.
She married G.F. Cowett in August 1967. She worked as the dietary manager at Sequoyah Memorial Hospital for over 30 years.
Survivors are her children, Melissa and Glen Caughman, and John and Rhonda Cowett, all of Sallisaw; siblings, Dorothy and Cecil Ed Tune of Bunch, Bruce and Joy Randle of Marble City and Edna “Punkin” Asbill of Sallisaw; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; an uncle, Ray Randle of Sallisaw; and a host of other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Sherry Lavaughn Cowett.
Pallbearers were Matthew Caughman, Luke Caughman, Ethan Cowett, Holden Cowett, Brody Martin and Bruce Alan Randle.
Honorary pallbearers were Ray Randle, Bruce Randle, John Cowett, Glen Caughman and Cecil Ed Tune.
