It is Fruit-Bearing Season
By Shirley R. Watts,

‘A Tree is Know by Its Fruit’

The Righteous

“He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper” (Psalm 1:3).

Christian, are you bearing spiritual fruit today? Maybe your leaf is withering. This is a beautiful season and opportunity to bear extra fruit. Jesus said, “By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples” (John 15:8).

What are you thinking as we enter the Season of Salvation by the way of the Cross of Jesus Christ. We can see Jesus as He walked the many miles sharing the love of God the Father. We must follow His lead!

Fruit Bearing

Who can bear spiritual fruit? First, you must be born again, (John 3) not using good works for your salvation! (Eph. 2:8-90) You are born again through faith in what Jesus did for you on the Cross. You are declared “righteous” by God the Father. Only then are you able to bear good fruit! We see many who are professing, but there is no “spiritual fruit.” Only if you are in Jesus, can you bear good fruit. “For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush” (Luke 6:44).

Good Fruit

If you delight in Word of God you can bear fruit! You will meditate in it day and night, being like a tree planted by the rivers of water, bringing forth fruit! The fruit is prayer, study, worship, witnessing, praising God, Godly character and loving one another, all under the leadership the Holy Spirit. This is being a channel for God’s love to move through and shine in this dark world. We need good fruit!

“But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty” (Matt 13:23). Are you bearing good fruit?

Like a beautiful green and healthy tree, we are alive, fruitful, useful, enduring and delighting in God. Our root system is in Jesus Christ! As we abide in Him we are able to draw upon His power and that is when we bear good fruit. Our leaf will not wither when we are fruitful. We must continue to abide in Him and we will stay fresh, green and fruitful.

If you ignore the root system you will begin to wither. “A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit” (Matt. 7:18).

“For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush” (Luke 6:44).

No fruit

“Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire” (Matt 7:19). So, are you bearing good fruit? If not, consider where your root system is. It must be in Jesus! You must be born again!

Conclusion

Today, every born again must be bearing good fruit! There is no time to lose! Let’s repent, get right with God, and bear fruit, for this glorifies God the Creator, our Father! Amen! We all must allow God’s love and His Word to be heard around the world. We must tell as many as we can as fast as we can about Jesus Christ, how He came and gave His life for sin, raised from dead that we may be saved. He loved us when we did not love Him. He deserves good fruit!

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him. For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. .. we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation” (Rom. 5:8-11).

Bear Good Fruit! Rapture Soon!
