Graveside services for Betty Joyce Cooper, 85, of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Memory Garden Cemetery in Muldrow, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Cooper was born on Oct. 26, 1938, in Claremore, to Minnie (Worden) Lambert and William Lambert. She died on Friday, March 8, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.
She was married to Gary Cooper on May 14, 1955, in Claremore.
She operated her own cleaning service in Dallas, made drapes in Tulsa and worked for J.C. Penney, Gould Battery and Dixie Cup. She loved to garden, do garage sales, and play golf and basketball.
Survivors are her husband, Gary of the home; daughter, Kristi Hamilton of Sallisaw; son, Michael Dean Cooper of the home; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Lambert and Joyce of Oologah; sister-in-law, Clydean Bradford McLaughlin of Collinsville; brother-in-law, Ronald Joe Cooper and Lisa of Escanaba, Mich.; and several other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Vicki Southerland; two grandson, Kevin Hamilton and Michael Cooper Jr.; three sisters, Joann Charles, Peggy Brunson and Shirley Franklin; and one brother, Jim Lambert.
