A Gore woman who reportedly gave an autistic teen a handful of pills and then told the teen to swallow them is set to appear before a judge Wednesday in Sequoyah County District Court.
Heather Major, 40, was formally charged on March 13 with contributing to the delinquency of minors and malicious injury to property under $1,000. Her bond was set at $15,000 and she is set to appear for a 9 a.m. felony disposition docket with Associate District Judge Kyle Waters.
Sequoyah County Sheriff ’s deputy Shane Petree reported he was dispatched to Lakeview Road in Gore where he spoke with the reporting party. The reporting party alleged that Major had given the teenager a handful of pills and told the teen to swallow them, while also providing the teen with some type of alcoholic drink, according to the probable cause affidavit filed in the case.
The deputy reported the teen was also unsteady on their feet and Pafford EMS had to transport the teen to a local hospi-tal for treatment.
Petree said Major refused to talk to him so she was placed under arrest and transported to the Sequoyah County Detention Center where she was booked in on her charge.
Court documents state Major has a former felony conviction of knowingly concealing stolen property in Sequoyah County District Court.
District Attorney Jack Thorp said if found guilty of the contributing charge, Major could face a fine of up to $1,000 or imprisonment for up to one year, or both.
