Approve fire dept. agreements
In a swift and decisive three minute special meeting held on April 12, the Trustees of Webbers Falls convened to address matters concerning the town’s safety and emergency services.
A pivotal moment of the meeting arose when the resignation of police chief Wayne Cartwright was brought to the floor for discussion. Trustee Danny Haley initiated the motion to accept Cartwright’s resignation, which was promptly seconded by Trustee Robert Ross Jr. The decision received unanimous support from all present trustees.
With the police chief position left vacant, the trustees wasted no time in addressing the crucial matter of law enforcement leadership. Mayor Johnny Pollard swiftly moved to appoint Brandon “Mike” James as the new police chief, with all the other trustees voting in favor.
Following the decisions regarding law enforcement, attention turned to matters of interdepartmental cooperation within emergency services. The trustees discussed and approved agreements between the Webbers Falls Fire Department and both the Gore Fire Department and Warner Fire Department. These agreements signify a commitment to mutual aid and collaboration in times of need, bolstering the town’s emergency response capabilities.
