Gore Little Pirates Football charts new course, emphasizing growth, community

Gore Little Pirates Football sets sail under a new banner and now under new leadership.

“This will be a season of growth and building the program, but we are looking forward to having some great coaches along the way,” said Trevor Wilbanks, program director. Wilbanks said those new coaches include Robby Summerlin, Levi Reasoner, Ethan Willhite, Shonn Wilbanks, Cody Jackson, Jordan Gates and Russel Munson.

“They will help teach these kids more than just football,” Wilbanks said. “They will also teach them things that apply to life, such as leadership, sportsmanship, teamwork, responsibility and hard work.”

Aligned with the 1-A Little League Football Conference, the Little Pirates teams are poised to clash with rivals including Vian, Muldrow, Roland, Haskell, Stigler, Warner, Keys, Panama and Checotah.

Registration for the 2024 Gore Little Pirates teams (first-second, third-fourth and fifthsixth grade divisions) is open via their digital sign-up sheet.

The registration fee will be $50 per player, which will be due before the player receives any equipment.

For additional information, get with Wilbanks by e-mail at gorelittlepirates@ gmail.com or through the organization’s Facebook page.
