Mose Nofire

May 11, 1938 – April 27, 2024

Funeral services for Mose Nofire, 85, of Nicut, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024, at Belfonte Baptist Church in Muldrow.

Burial was at Belfonte Cemetery in Muldrow under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.

Mr. Nofire was born on May 11, 1938, in Nicut to the Rev. Robert Nofire and Euna Belle (Coleman) Nofire. He died on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in Fort Smith, Ark.

He was a former road grader for Sequoyah County District 3.

He married Mary Mae Bird on May 15, 1961, in Sequoyah County.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Nofire of the home; two daughters, Sylvia Holmes and Rebecca Nofire both of Muldrow; two sisters, Akie Gourd of Tahlequah and Margaret Terrapin of Stilwell; three grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three children, Mose Nofire Jr., Amy Nofire and Scotty Nofire; and seven brothers, Abel, James, Clifton, Jackson, Robert Jr., Clayton and Jerry Nofire.

Pallbearers were Jonathan Bird, Tristan Williams, Tyler Terrapin, Jeremy Mabray, Caleb Mabray and Ricky Don Teehee.
