Current Town: Sallisaw Education: 12th Grade Age: 55 Candidate Background: I am the current Sequoyah County Court Clerk and prior to that, I worked five years as an assistant office administrator for the sheriff’s office. I was employed for six years by the town of Roland as a communication officer and dispatch supervisor, before continuing up the ranks. After serving four years as Roland court clerk, I ran for the office of county court clerk in 2020. I’ve enjoyed serving as Sequoyah County Court Clerk and hope to continue doing so for another four years. I have participated in many community events, including Shop with a Cop/Firefighter, an annual Fun Day at the park for kids, and have done charity walks for child cancer awareness, breast cancer and multiple sclerosis.

What are the top three messages of your campaign?

1. Bring the Court Clerk office in line with the state auditors.

2. Cross train every employee so that the office runs efficiently and in a more timely manner.

3. I’ll personally be available daily for the citizens who have any questions, concerns or unpleasant experiences at the Court Clerk’s office.

4. When the office gets extra busy, I will be a hands-on Court Clerk working side-by-side with employees.

What are the top three most pressing issues facing rural Oklahoma? How would you address these issues if elected?

1. I will teach all employees not to be biased or partial while working for the citizens of Sequoyah County.

2. The court records need to be available to the public without compromising personal information.

Explain your positions on economic development as it pertains to rural Oklahoma in general and Eastern Oklahoma in particular.

It’s extremely important to put emphasis on economic development especially in rural areas, which are sometimes at a disadvantage to their urban counterparts in resources, to attract new business.
