June 24, 1938 – Nov. 16, 2024

Funeral service for Ervin Collins, 86, of Blackgum, Okla., was at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at Blackgum Harvestime Church in Vian, Okla. Burial followed at Box Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.

He was born on June 24, 1938 in Blackgum, to Verda (Hawkins) Collins and Efton Leonard Collins and passed away on November 16, 2024 in Muskogee, Okla. He was married to Barbara (Blevins) Collins. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and a store manager. He loved to read and watch westerns, football and golf.

Survivors are wife, Barbara of the home; two sons, Efton Collins and Linda of Bentonville, Ark. and Mike Collins and Vickie of Lafayette, La.; two daughters, Melody Emerson of Blackgum and Jady Himel of Lafayette, La.; eight grandchildren, Lisa McCool, Melissa Collins, Alec Collins, Jacob Collins, Shayla Meche, Justin Emerson, Chris Simon and Adam Simon; four great-grandchildren, Bennett Grimes, Eleanor McCool, Aniston Meche and Emeri Meche; one sister, Wanda Risley of Blackgum; and several other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; former wife, Jane; two children, Sally and Bob; three brothers, Morris, Dwight and Voyd Collins; and two sisters, Audrey Ritter and Nellie Enkey.

Active pallbearers were Dean Risley, Dean Risley, Sr., Gage Rouse, Justin Emerson, Ronnie Baldwin and Charles Collins.

Honorary pallbearer was Dale Ritter. Viewing was from Noon to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Home in Sallisaw, Okla.
