Claude (Dink) Scott Jr.

April 1, 1940 – Feb. 5, 2025

and crappie fishing with his wife, Dora. He got a kick out of playing pool and was a well-known pool shark. Dink married Dora Miller on April 18, 1962, at Sallisaw. They loved spending time with family, especially their grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him Potts.

He is survived by his children, Paula and Harrison Kert Kyle of Roanoke, Va., Dink Scott of Vian, Sandra and Mike Spencer of Vian, and David and Marsha Scott of Sallisaw; grandchildren, Tyler and Amanda Spencer, Hunter and Natalie Spencer, and Joshua Scott; and great-grandchildren, Gentry, Gemma, Ezra and Gatlin.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dora; mother and father, Okla and Claude Scott Sr.,; and siblings, Margaret Horn, Charles Scott, Betty Smith, Don Scott, Bobby Scott, John Scott, Doris Trotter and Danny Scott.

Pallbearers were Tyler Spencer, Hunter Spencer, Joshua Scott, Dink Scott, Leon “Bo” McCoy and Rex Brooks.

Honorary Pallbearers were Mike Spencer, Ezra Spencer, Gatlin Spencer, Kert Kyle, Raymond Yahola Jr, Alex Yahola, Marcus Yahola and Jack Calcote.

Visitation was Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, at Forever Memories Funeral Home in Sallisaw from 5 to 8 p.m. with family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. The celebration of Dink’s life was held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2025, at Forever Memories, with Pastor Jimmy Hunt and Rev. Patty Posey officiating. Interment followed at Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian.

The family entrusted the funeral arrangements with Forever Memories Funeral Services INC.

Claude (Dink) Scott Jr., 84, of Vian, Okla., was born April 1, 1940, in Sallisaw, Okla., to Okla and Claude Scott Sr. Dink passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2025, surrounded by family.

He attended Sallisaw High School and went on to work at Vian Lumber Company for 25 years. He especially loved growing tomatoes
