Funeral services for Jim Goodman, 74, of Sallisaw, were held at 2 p.m. on Sat., March 8, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Akins Cemetery under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mr. Goodman was born on Aug. 9, 1950, in Fairfield, Ill., to Erma Jean (Mench) Goodman and James Albert Goodman, Sr. He passed away on Wed., March 5, 2025, in Fort Smith, Ark.
He married Sandy (Chaney) Goodman on Aug. 7, 1969, in Phoenix.
He was known to be a jack of all trades, working as a racehorse trainer and managing multiple sanitation companies. Jim enjoyed sports and going to horse sales.
Survivors are his wife, Sandy Goodman; daughter, Jimsie Looper and Scott of Sallisaw; son, Randy Goodman and DeAnn Peace of Sallisaw; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Darla McLeroy of Fort Worth, Texas; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his two sisters, Linda Bulow and Sandra J. Goodman; and brother, Charles Newton.
Pallbearers were Scott Looper, Destry Graham, Trevor Howard, Garret Holt, Carl Elkins and Roy Chaney.
Honorary pallbearer was Dwight Dicus.
