Central Tigers fall to Vian, Panama last week
By David Seeley Sports Editor

The Central Tigers suffered a pair of home losses last week, 11-1 in six innings to Panama on March 31 and 15-0 in three innings to Vian on April 1.

In the loss to Panama, the Razorbacks jumped out early on the Tigers (5-11), scoring single runs in each of the first three innings, adding three more runs in the fourth and scoring twice in the fifth inning for an 8-0 lead. After the Tigers scored their lone run in the fifth inning, a three-run sixth inning for the Hogs put the game into run-rule status.

Panama pitcher Brayden Wiles threw a six-inning two-hitter with seven strikeouts.

In defeat, Ryker Miller doubled and Xhaiden Mosby singled for Central’s two hits.

Hardy Buzzard (0-5) suffered the loss, going the first 3.2 innings with four strikeouts. Waylen Campbell went the next 1.1 innings, then Miller went the final inning.

In the loss to Central, Vian pitcher Riley Ellis threw a three-inning no-hitter with four strikeouts.

The Wolverines scored four runs in the first inning and six runs in the second inning for a 10-0 lead. A five-run third inning put the game into run-rule status.

Kiefer Bailey (3-2) took the loss, despite getting three strikeouts in the first inning. Campbell went the next 1.1 innings with a strikeout, then Miller got the final two outs of the game, one of which came by strikeout.

The final games of the week, which were to be in the first-ever Muldrow Baseball Festival on Thursday and Friday, were rained out and will not be rescheduled.
