Vian Lady Wolverines suffer three softball losses last week

It was a rough week last week for the Vian Lady Wolverines slowpitch softball team as they lost all three games played, losing 9-3 to Stilwell on March 31 at Armstrong Park, 14-6 in five innings at Howe on April 1 and 10-3 at Eufaula on Thursday.

In the loss to Stilwell, the Lady Indians rallied from a 2-1 secondinning deficit by scoring four runs in the fourth inning, twice in the fifth inning and single runs in the sixth and seventh innings to take a 9-2 lead.

In defeat, Kala Gibbins was 4-for-4 with a double, Aliyah Tucker was 3-for-3, Rayleigh Terrill was 2-for-3 with a run scored, Eden Gilbert was 2-for-3 with a run batted in and a run scored and Aubree Craighead tripled with an RBI and a run scored for the Lady Wolverines (4-7). Terrill (4-7) suffered the loss.

In the loss to Howe, the Lady Lions broke a 5-all tie with a sevenrun third inning to take a 12-5 lead. A run in the fifth inning for Howe put the game into runrule status.

In defeat, Gibbins was 2-for-2 with a double and a run scored, Terrill was 2-for-3 with her first home run of the season and three runs batted in and Kaidence Roark doubled and scored once for the Lady Wolverines. Terrill suffered the loss.

In the loss to Eufaula, the Lady Ironheads rallied from a 2-0 first-inning deficit by scoring three runs in each of the first two innings, then scored single run-in the fourth and fifth innings to take an 8-2 lead after five innings.

In defeat, Craighead was 2-for-3, Eden Girty was 2-for-3, Gibbins hit her first homer of the season, a two-run shot in the first inning, and Terrill hither second homer of the season, a solo shooting the sixth inning to cut the deficit to 8-3. Terrill suffered the loss.
