Funeral services for Carilyn (Chuculate) Locust, 75, of Marble City, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at House of Praise in Marble City.
Burial was at Flute Springs Cemetery in Marble City under the direction of Agent & Mallory-Martin Funeral Home.
Mrs. Locust was born on Aug. 3, 1949, in Marble City to Steve Chuculate and Daisy (Johnson) Chuculate. She died on Friday, April 18, 2025, in Sallisaw.
She worked as a health care provider and was a speaker of the Cherokee language.
Survivors include four sons, George Locust Jr. and Jannette of Brushy, Bobby and Jessica Locust of Muldrow, and Kevin Locust and Anthony Locust, both of Marble City; one daughter, Alicia Farris and companion Billy Hernandez of Marble City; one brother, Watie and Gwen Chuculate of Sallisaw; three sisters, Lucy Scoggins of Sallisaw, Nellie and Raymond Chavez of Sallisaw and Pauline and Clifton Pettit of Marble City; 19 grandchildren; and other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Locust; one son, Steven Locust; one sister, Ruby Bailey; and a grandson.
Pallbearers were Jess Locust, Heath Rouell, Hunter Copeland, Ryan Farris, Ryan Copeland and Connor Green.
