Former Vian softball player sees freshman season at EOSC end

Former Vian Lady Wolverines softball player Maisie Wells saw her freshman season with the Eastern Oklahoma State College Lady Mountaineers come to an end last week.

Wells and the Lady Mountaineers lost 5-3 to the Connors State College Cowgirls last Wednesday in Wilburton in the NJCAA Division I Region II Tournament.

The season-ending loss came Thursday as the Lady Mountaineers lost 10-1 to Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College in the Region II Tournament in Piedmont.

The Lady Mountaineers ended the season at 31-21.

In the loss to Connors State, Wells went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a run batted in, while she went hitless in three at-bats against NEO.

This season, Wells hit .457 with eight doubles, three triples, six home runs, 21 RBIs, 48 runs scored and 11 stolen bases.
