Vian’s Nathen Cheater and three Central Tigers football players, Aidan Sainer, Dillon Miller and Cole Holcomb, were named to the Oklahoma Native American All-State East Football Team.
Cheater was the Co-Defensive Lineman of the Year along with teammate Peyton Johnson on the All-District 2AII-4 Football Team. Cheater, whose Wolverines went 13-1, 10-0 in the regular season, and reached the Class 2AII state championship, where they lost 28-18 to Davis on Dec. 7 at the University of Oklahoma’s Chad Richison Stadium in Edmond.
Cheater, who signed along with teammate Jacob Brannick with Southwestern College, located in Winfield, Kan., on Feb. 26 at B.J. Traw Gymnasium, also played in the 2025 Native American All-Star Game on Jan. 7 at The Star in Frisco (Texas).
Miller was named the Linebacker of the Year and Sainer was named the Defensive Back of the Year on the All-District AII-3 Football Team. Holcomb was named to the first team all-district.
The game pitting the East against the West All-Native American All-Staters will take place June 14 at Okmulgee’s Bateman Field.
The Tigers were 7-4 last year and made the Class A-II football playoff, losing their opening- round game 44-15 to Hominy.
