On April 24, Marble City Mayor Tamara Hibbard officially proclaimed April 2025 as Child Abuse Prevention Month during a community gathering at the Marble City Town Hall stage.
This year’s theme, “Planting Positive Roots,” highlights the importance of building strong foundations for children through supportive relationships and healthy environments.
The proclamation event brought together a wide range of community members and organizations, including the Marble City Council, Marble City Fire Department, Marble City Community Center, Oklahoma Human Services, TSET Healthy Living Program, Sequoyah County Health Department, and students and families from Marble City Public Schools.
As part of this ongoing effort, the Sequoyah County Health Department invites everyone to attend Flutter Fest— a family-friendly event originally postponed due to weather.
Flutter Fest will now be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on June 7, 2025. More information about the event will be shared on the Sequoyah County Health Department Facebook page. Be sure to follow for updates and details as the event approaches.
