Gore Public School’s fourth and fifth grade students recently spent time at the Fort Smith Marshall Museum. The exhibits were very interesting, and the interactive storytelling was a great experience. Students learned that many women served as marshals, and Judge Isaac Parker of Fort Smith had one of the greatest marshals ever, Bass Reeves. A portion of a beam from the 9/11 Twin Towers is on display, and students were able to make a connection between the stories they had been told and the actual day’s events. Students used their new knowledge to make a stop-motion video with a backdrop and all the necessary equipment.
