Cherokee Nation Children’s Clothing Assistance Program opens

The Cherokee Nation’s Children’s Clothing Assistance Program application is now open.

To help parents with back-to-school shopping, a one-time payment of $150 through the annual Children’s Clothing Assistance Program is open to income-eligible Cherokee citizens under the age of 19. There are no residency restrictions for this year’s application eligibility.

Cherokee Nation Human Services is now accepting applications through the tribe’s online Gadugi Portal at https://gadugiportal. cherokee.org. The deadline for the application is July 22, at 5 p.m.

Please note for applicants aged 18 who experience difficulty or receive an error message, Cherokee Nation IT is working to have this resolved in the coming days. For those qualifying Cherokee Nation citizens living outside the United States an application will open separately on the Gadugi Portal at a later date, and more information will be shared about that application soon, so stay tuned to the Cherokee Nation Facebook page and Gadugi Portal for more updates.

To qualify, applicants must be a Cherokee Nation citizen as of June 24, 2025, and must be under the age of 19 years old. Household income must not exceed 150% of the federal poverty income guidelines for household size (see graphic below).
