Mrs. Spears from Gore Elementary (back row, center) received one of five Tribal Agriculture Fellowship (TAF) Scholarships to the 2025 National Agriculture in the Classroom conference in Minneapolis, Minn. This conference is a premier professional development event for Pre-K through 12th grade teachers, volunteers and professionals in agricultural literacy. This conference included teacher professional development workshops, a traveling workshop experience into Minnesota’s agriculture industry, and networking and resource sharing with fellow educators and industry experts in agriculture and education. The scholarship included registration to the conference, hotel accommodations, meals and invaluable resources and contacts to help Mrs. Spears teach the importance of agriculture to Gore students. Students need to know where their food, fiber and fuel come from.
