Kindness, dedication shaping King into young leader
By ALLY TROTTER NEWS INTERN

Bella King, an upcoming junior at Vian High School, is a young lady deeply rooted in her community.

Born and raised in Vian, King is surrounded by a large family and lives with her mom and younger sister, Nora. She is also supported by an extended number of grandparents and greatgrandparents, as well as aunts, uncles and cousins who all call Vian home.

“My strong family ties and love for my community have shaped me into the hardworking, driven and caring individual I am today,” King said.

At just 16 years old, she has already held herself to high standards. She is a member of the Vian High School cheer team, a newly elected FFA officer, expresses her love for Jesus through FCA, and is a member of the National Honor Society, all while working two part-time jobs.

King spends her weekdays attending cheer practice, working at Hardwaters Shaved Ice in Vian, and swimming at her Nanny’s in her free time. She also enjoys reading romance and mystery novels while at work.

“Being able to read at work is one thing I enjoy about my job, as well as getting free snow cones,” she admits.

During weekends, she spends her time on Lake Tenkiller working at Pine Cove Marina. There, she rents out boats and checks rentals in for customers, answers phone calls and runs the cash register.

“What I enjoy most about working on the lake is meeting new people,” she said.

Despite her packed schedule, King still finds time for the things she loves. She enjoys reading, spending time with friends and watching movies with her little sister. Even with high school still ahead of her, she is looking forward to the future with clear goals. She plans to attend college and pursue a career in nursing, with dreams of becoming a traveling registered nurse.

When asked what advice she would share with others, she did not hesitate to say, “Be kind.” It is a simple, yet powerful reminder that reflects the heart of who she is.

King is a shining example of how dedication, community involvement and kindness can shape a young person into a true leader.
