Celebration of Life services for Brenda Sue Burgess Smith were held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, at New Beginnings Church in Bixby. Burial will be at Step Hill Cemetery in Fort Smith, Ark. at a later date.
Mrs. Smith was born July 13, 1957, in Fort Chaffee, Ark. to Richard Sr. and Fern Burgess. She passed away Thursday, July 17, 2025.
She married Donald Smith on Dec. 27, 2004. She worked as a waitress at Marrs and Lessley’s cafes in Sallisaw, and enjoyed gardening and spending time with her grandkids.
Survivors are her husband Don, of the home; daughter, Shannon and husband Dustin Jaggers of Mounds; son, Ryan Otwell of Tulsa; brothers, De-Wayne Sr., Scott, and Rick Burgess of Sallisaw; three grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
