Funeral services for Lena “Granny” Garrison, 91, of Gore, were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2025, at House of Prayer in Gore. Burial followed at White Cemetery, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
Mrs. Garrison was born on Feb. 20, 1934, in Gore, to Buck and Maoma (Williams) Thomas. She passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2025.
She married Garner Garrison on Nov. 3, 1952, in Van Buren, Ark.
She was an exceptional cook and passionate gospel singer who later taught within her church, House of Prayer.
Survivor are her husband, Garner Garrison; daughter, Diana and Roger Ellis; son, Charles Garrison; three grandchildren; numerous greatgrandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Teresa Jane; grandson, Ryan Garrison; siblings: Ruby Andrews, Nathlee Newton, Pauline Beach, Mike Thomas, Melvin Thomas and Frank Thomas; daughter-in-law, Cindy Garrison; and son-in-law, Jimmy D. Blackburn.
Pallbearers were Pete Garrison, John Thomas, Steve Francis, Tom Barnes, Charles Hughart and Billy Jay Newton.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Garrison, Diana Blackburn, Sean Garrison, Roger Ellis, Brittany Powell and Heather Garrison.
