The new fast-pitch softball season for the Gore Lady Pirates will bring a pair of Gore alumni leading the way as coaches.
The sister act of new head coach Kera Carter and her sister, assistant coach Kendra Reasnor, will be guiding the Lady Pirates this fall on the softball diamond.
The Lady Pirates, who were 14-11 last season, return seven starters, three of whom are seniors — shortstop Emily Daily, pitcher Cheyenne Davidson and center fielder Kennedy Williams.
The other three returning starters are junior third baseman River Shoemake, junior second baseman Sophie O’Connor, and sophomore catcher/ right fielder Maddison Douglass.
Three freshmen are planning to figure prominently for Carter — pitcher Alevia Reasnor, catcher Kylie McEver and pitcher/first baseman Jemma Peevy.
Rounding out the roster are Hallie Brewer, Keira Rowe, Evee Cearley, Mylee Bruce, Camdyn Dotson and Mikayla Randolph.
“This team has leadership, grit and determination to have a successful year,” Carter said. “We have strong arms, solid defense and experience at the plate. We’re eager to see how this season goes.”
