The Gore Lady Pirates got the coaching sister act of Kera Carter and Kendra Reasnor off to a 1-1 start last week to begin the 2025 fastpitch softball season.
The Lady Pirates won their season opener 4-1 over Keys on Aug. 11 in Park Hill, then fell 9-0 in five innings at Porum on Thursday night.
In the win over Keys, the Lady Pirates scored once in the first inning and three runs in the second inning for a 4-0 lead.
For the game, Emily Daily was 2-for-3 with a triple and a run scored, River Shoemake was 2-for-4 and Alevia Reasnor doubled with two runs batted in and a run scored for Gore.
Reasnor (1-0) got the victory, fanning nine batters and scattering six hits.
In the loss to Porum, Porum pitcher Jaelyn Smith threw a three-hitter with two strikeouts in five innings.
In defeat, Daily was 2-for-3, while Hallie Brewer singled for the only hits for Gore off Smith.
Jemma Peevy (0-1) suffered the loss, going the first three innings with three strikeouts. Reasnor went the final inning.
