Funeral services for Arba Thomas Jett, 88, of Vian, were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 22, 2025, at Calvary Temple Church in Sallisaw. Burial followed at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Vian, under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services of Sallisaw.
Mr. Jett was born on Nov. 22, 1936, in Paden, to Aaron Abednego Jett and Irene Dona (Hanna) Jett. He passed away on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at home.
He was married to Miriam Loretta (Worley) Jett on Jan. 29, 1958, in Fresno, Calif.
He was a dedicated and hard-working man whose quiet strength and commitment to doing things right left a lasting impression on all who knew him.He was a faithful member of Eastside Holiness Church, Muldrow, Survivors are his wife of 67 years, Miriam; four children and their spouses, Arba Jett and Lori of Vian, Loretta Parks and Roger of Cunningham, Ken., Anna Stewart and Allen of Sallisaw and Dwayne Jett of Vian; 12 grandchildren; 26 greatgrandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth Jett of Denton, Texas, John Jett of Waxahachie, Texas and David Jett of Tecumseh; four sisters, Nancy Griffin of Midwest City, Wanda Bristow of Shawnee, Carol Quinality of Prague and Mary Beauford of Seminole; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six siblings, Andrew, Nathan, Paul, Glenn, and two infants; daughter-in-law, Kirbie Lynn Jett; and two grandchildren.
