After being taken from their homes because of abuse or neglect, foster care leaves children dealing with a lot of change and uncertainty. CASA for Children and their dedicated volunteers provides a voice for these vulnerable children when they need it most.
Court Appointed Special Advocates, CASA volunteers, are everyday people who volunteer to speak on behalf of a child’s best interest in court, school, and the community. Volunteers get to know the child and everyone involved in their life, helping to make sure judges have the most complete information to make decisions about the child’s future.
CASA is seeking at least 20 new volunteers to provide a voice for children in our community. Enrollment for the next volunteer training class is open now. No special training or education is required. All you need is a heart for helping kids and a dedication to standing up for those in need.
“Every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued,” said Suzanne Hughes, Executive Director for CASA for Children. “When you become a CASA volunteer, you’re not just changing a child’s story, you’re changing their life.”
