It was a rough week of softball for the Central Lady Tigers as they lost both of their games played last week.
The Lady Tigers ended the week with a 12-2, four-inning, run-rule loss to the host Roland Lady Rangers on Thursday after suffering a 9-0 District 2A-12 home game to district champion Pocola on Sept. 2 In the loss to Roland, the Lady Tigers (1-10) took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, but the Lady Rangers scored three runs in the first inning, twice in the second inning and five runs in the third inning for a 10-1 lead after three innings. A two-run fourth inning ended the game as the contest reached runrule status.
In defeat, Addison Howard doubled with a run batted in, Charlie Petree doubled, Sadie Huff singled and scored once, Jhaselyn Gonzalez singled with an RBI and Alyvia Warner and Brenleigh Allen each singled for Central. Howard (1-5) suffered the loss.
In the district loss to Pocola, Pocola’s pitching duo of Kyleigh Combs and Alli Lomon combined on a five-hitter.
The Lady Indians, who have clinched the District 2A-12 title, scored three runs in the first inning, twice in the third inning, once in the3 fourth inning and three runs in the sixth inning.
In defeat, Gonzalez was 2-for-3, while Allen, Petree and Brianna Taylor each singled for the Lady Tigers (0-4 in district play).
Howard suffered the loss, although she recorded three strikeouts in seven innings.
