Gore runners do well in own cross country meet

The Gore high school, junior high and elementary school cross country runners did well in their own Gore Invita-tional, which took place Sept. 2 at Steve Owens Sports Complex.

In the high school girls’ division, Amelia White made the top 10 as she was 10th with a time of 7:56.54.

White saw three other teammates place in the meet as Rayleigh Moore was 21st (9:12.45), Gracie Bruce was 30th (10:03.5) and Avery Hoog was 31st (10:03.77).

The Pirates finished fourth as a team in the high school boys’ division with 90 points, finishing behind team champion Eufaula (49 points), Porum (53) and Keys (55).

Keeton Rowe had the fastest time for the Pirates as he was 16th (14:38.24), followed by Gabe Hefley in 30th place (15:45.81), Jaydan Gates in 32nd place (16:13.1), Wyatt Willard in 34th place (16:14.4), Clayton White in 50th place (18:05.47), Kyler McGee in 55th place (18:34.68) and Cruze Duke in 57th place (19:35.93).

The Lady Pirates had two runners in the junior high girls race as Taylor Kinion was sixth (7:20) and Annika Pruitt was 15th (8:00.91).

The Pirates junior high team came in runners-up with 70 points, finishing a distant second to team champion Pittsburg (39 points).

Two Pirates made the top 15 as Bryson Franco was seventh (6:52.56) and Blake Frye was 13th (7:12.14).

As for other Pirates, Isaac McGrew was 23rd (7:42.28), Jayse Boyd was 26th (7:54.27), Quinn Montgomery was 33rd (8:30.03), Cale Cox was 35th (8:35.27) and Jeremiah Garner was 42nd (9:16.69).

The Lady Pirates finished third in the elementary girls’ division with 56 points, finishing behind team champion Oktaha (32 points) and Brushy (40).

For the Lady Pirates, Karsyn Springer was the individual runner-up with a time of 7:50.37, while Saige Farris also made the top 15 as she was 11th (9:05.96).

As for other Lady Pirates, Elle Keathley was 17th (9:56.78), Reece Ward was 18th (10:27.66), Kimberly Quick was 19th (10:30.59), Adeline Sloan was 22nd (10:54.93) and Claire Holland was 23rd (11:06.44).

The Pirates won the elementary school boys team title with 36 points.

Individually, the Pirates had three runners make the top 10 and six made the top 15.

Kyler Carter was third (7:35.7), Eli Montgomery was fifth (7:52.43), Kysen Carter was eighth (7:58.1), Easton Lewis was 12th (8:16.01), Liken Andrews was 14th (8:22.57), Tripp Smith was 15th (8:23.02) and Stetson Andrews was 17th (8:31.93).

Gore’s Taylor Kinion, representing the Gore junior high team, was 46th in the elementary school boys race with a time of 39:42.58.
