The town of Gore’s Board of Trustees held a special meeting on August 29, where members voted to approve the hiring of a new full-time police officer.
Mayor Robin Henry called the meeting to order at 2 p.m. with trustees Matt Holland, Larry Pack and Randy Foley present, and Trustee Joni Couch absent.
The board then voted to enter into executive session under Title 25 O.S. Section 307 (B)(1) to discuss the employment of Wade Ranes. Mayor Henry asked town clerk Lisa Settlemyre and police chief Randy Taylor to join the closed session.
After reconvening the open meeting at 2:14 p.m., the trustees voted unanimously to hire Ranes as a full-time officer with the Gore Police Department at a pay rate of $19 per hour, with the meeting adjourning a minute later.
