Dear Editor, Have you ever wondered, “What would I do if I wasn’t able to know if my son or daughter were sick in school, or if they are safe?” Did you ever think, “How does it all happen: The door that won’t lock or the sink that leaks?” We all like sports and try to be there at the game to watch our kids play their favorite sport, and some even break school records for the fastest time in a 100-yard dash.
Have you ever gone to a baseball game and there was no grass to play on, or lines to show your bases? How about that Coke and chips you had during the game? I wonder, who cleans up what I left behind? Meanwhile, your son or daughter’s graduation was nice – everything looked so clean.
Well just think if the bleachers were sticky because the week before at the football game someone had a Coke and didn’t finish it or the bag of chips. Did you ever wonder, “How does it get done?”
Who cleans my son’s or daughter’s room? It always looks so clean, as does the rest of the school grounds with all the lawns cut so nice. Well, whoever thinks, “Who or what is doing all these things for my son or daughter?”
Believe it or not, the next time you go to your son’s or daughter’s school, you can look for a few of us. We don’t hide from you; we are there day and night. We are there making that phone call to a parent about your son or daughter that you need to come and get them, they are not feeling well. Or we’re just mowing the lawns for a baseball game, or lining a field.
In education, the goal is to put your best foot forward, not just in teaching, but everything that’s part of it. So when you see that unknown person just doing their job and take time to think, “I wonder who did that?” If you look, you might just find out.
