QUINTON — The Webbers Falls Warriors suffered a season-opening 26-8 loss to the host Quinton Savages on Friday night.
After a scoreless first quarter, the Savages (2-0) got two touchdowns to put them ahead 12-0.
The Warriors (0-1) got their only score when Brutus Robinson connected on a 21-yard TD pass to Trysten Wilbourn with 1:57 left before halftime. Robinson then hit Thadan Yandell on the two-point conversion to cut the Quinton lead to 12-8 at halftime.
However, the Savages scored 14 unanswered points in the third quarter to put away the game.
The Warriors will return to action in their home opener against Canadian at 7 p.m. this Friday at Smokey Cox Stadium.
