Funeral services for Paul James “Cookie” McClure, 92, of Vian, were at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 22, 2025, at Agent Mallory Martin Chapel in Sallisaw. Burial followed at Oakland Cemetery in Poteau, under the direction of Agent Mallory Martin Funeral Service, Inc.
He was born on April 24, 1933 in Vian, to Bessie Lee (Dunn) Winsel and A.C. McClure. He passed away on Monday, Sept. 15, 2025, in Tulsa.
He was married to Maridel “Mary” (Webster) McClure on April 15, 1959, in Sallisaw. She preceded him in death on Jan. 2, 2021.
He was a proud Air Force Veteran who served in the Korean War. He and Mary owned and operated MC’s Cafe, in Vian, for over 20 years.
Survivors are three daughters, Karen Brown of Poteau, Paula Thomas and Jimmy of Vian and Barbara Victory of Vian; three sons, Paul McClure, Jr. of Fort Smith, Ark., Donnie McClure and Lara of Vian and Allen McClure of the Philippines; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and greatgreat-grandson; one sister, Barbara Duffy and Larry of Poteau; and other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Allen McClure; granddaughter, Tammy Brown; great-grandson, Christopher Morton; and son-inlaw, Paul Brown.
Pallbearers were Dustin Thomas, Nicholas Mc-Clure, Mac White, David McClure, Cody Thomas and Connor McClure.
Honorary pallbearer was Delbert Spears.
