Gore’s fifth grade girls received T-shirts, bags, lanyards, STEM projects, and lots of neat aviation stuff on September 20 during Girls in Avaiation Day. The girls got in a helicopter, walked through and around a passenger plane, and the flight simulator was really cool. Their teacher, Mrs. Ridinger, won a #7 Thunder jersey signed by Chet Holmgren. The girls listened to Eileen Collins, the first female astronaut and first female space station commander, and then had their picture made with her. The day ended with ice cream, thanks to Mrs. Pugh.
